Hey there,

We’re Joe & Lindsey, founders of Grain & Grit! We’re a couple of beer-obsessed, home-brewing, family-oriented, fun-loving folks who’ve made our home in the fine city of Hamilton.

Grain & Grit has been in the works for well over a decade. For the longest time, it was just a pipe dream that would surface when we were drinking craft beer and fantasizing about changing our lives and starting a business together. It wasn't until Joe started home-brewing that this crazy idea of ours started to take on a life of it’s own. He found so much joy in the brewing process and in sharing his beer with our friends and family, that he knew it was how he wanted to spend his days. So, we started to take action.

Once we found our building at 11 Ewen Road in Hamilton, Joe quit his job and shit started to get real! We worked together harder than we ever thought possible to build Grain & Grit — from framing the walls to plumbing, to painting and everything in between. We finally opened our doors in October 2017 and we’re having a blast making beer and serving our amazing community.

We pushed ourselves way outside of our comfort zone to get here, and we’re hoping to inspire you to do the same. Or at the very least, we can provide you with a beer or two to enjoy while dreaming of your next big move.
